Scrooges spirits has the best selection of craft beer around town. And if there’s any beer that they don’t carry but is available through their distributers, they’ll order if for you. Haven’t had a problem since ive been going there (2-3 years now).
Stopped in here the other week while I was traveling for work, I have to admit I was very happy that I did so. I passed it twice at least trying to find it, but once I did, it was worth the trip. Rather unassuming from the outside, I walked in to a store that could make me more then happy. An excellent selection of nearly everything you can find in the upstate in a six pack. Decent selecion of Belgians and some more common bombers floating around. Prices seemed very reasonable I have to say and I was quite impressed overall with the staff. A very solid little shop for sure, and to my knowledge the only place worth visiting in Anderson.
I just needed a single or two but wanted to see what this place has to offer. Liquor to the left and beer and wine to the right as you enter. They had a huge selction of singles on the shelves and plenty of six packs with thomas Creek and NC’s great craft beers represented as well. The coolers on the back wall had some draft cans and some European brews and the usual US macros. There was a very good selection of European beer and I find that to be very cool until SC pops the cap and the Palmetto state can really get some choices. One neat thing to add was that this store had TWO prices on some of the refrigerated singles cash and charge with cash being cheaper. A draft can of Bass for $1.49 and a Franziskanzer for $1.89. Very reasonable singles prices here. Big store and the girl at the counter asked if I needed any help finding anything.
Scrooge’s has an excellent selection compared to other places in this area, though they are limited in what they can offer by the restrictive laws in this state. They have many microbrews and European beers and some Asian beers. They have a small selection in the cooler. They have a selection along one wall where you can mix your own 6-pack for $6.99. You can find most of the beers on the top 100 that are within the limits of the law (6% ABV). Their staff is always friendly and courteous. They bring to mind the phrase “Southern Hospitality”.
